[Handle-info] Handle-related software package

Hello,

While employed at the computer center and the university library in
Goettingen, Germany (Gesellschaft fuer wissenschaftliche
Datenverarbeitung mbH and Niedersaechsische Staats- und
Universitaetsbibliothek) from June 2012 until February 2014, I
developed a software package that uses the Handle System.  I am
submitting this posting in the hopes that it may be of interest to
some readers of this list.

gwrdifpk is a client/server application that implements remote access
to an iRODS system (see 
wiki.irods.org/index.php/IRODS:Data_Grids,_Digital_Libraries,_Persistent_Archives,_and_Real-time_Data_Systems
for more information about iRODS).  Handles are assigned to objects 
be archived and information about the latter is stored in handle values.  
Commands for creating, deleting and editing handles are also provided.

gwrdifpk uses GnuTLS for the communication between client and server with X.509 certificates for 
authentication and authorization.  

The source code and the documentation are licensed under the GNU Public License 
and the GNU Free Documentation License, respectively.
