Hi Scott,
Because of the way that the cache works, sending the authoritative
request after deleting the handle would not have any effect. Setting
the authoritative flag means that the resolver (in this case in the
server) bypasses the cache when resolving the handle but it does put
the result of that resolution back into the cache. Because the handle
had been deleted, there was nothing to put back into the cache. The
resolver didn't delete the old cached value, but it would have if the
handle hadn't been deleted.
