Re: [Handle-info] Problems with session settings

Hi Vlad,

Based on your description it is not clear if you are using the command-line batch runner or the GUI one from the new handle tool. If you are using the command-line batch runner you should know that any sessions that are set up will not persist between invocations.

I would recommend using the new GUI admin tool which will automatically use sessions for any batch files run with it. The java web start version of this tool is here:
http://handle.net/webstart/hdlgui/hdlgui.jnlp
Or you can run it from your local machine with the handle.jar and admintool.jar files:
java -cp handle.jar:admintool.jar net.handle.apps.admintool.controller.Main

The "connection refused" error may be due to a network configuration problem. I think sessions currently require either TCP or HTTP connections but resolution can be performed over UDP, TCP or HTTP. If your network is blocking access over TCP port 2641 or HTTP port 8000 (the defaults) to the handle server then resolution would work but not administration using sessions. Could this be the problem?

If you send your prefix I can try to investigate a bit from my side.

Thanks,
Sean

Hi Everyone,

Could you please give me some advise.

I'm trying to bundle my DB application (PHP 4) with HandleSys batch command.
Everything works fine except it's too slow.
To speed it up I decide to set a session to make a kind of "persistent" connection to HandleSys.
So, I form one batch file with authentication and session commands, run it, and then run delete/add batches.
The first batch (authentication/session) runs OK but the second fails (connection refused).
I tried all possible settings of session command but haven't had any success.
I guess I have to supply session id during the second batch but I couldn't find any command/parameter for that.

I'd greatly appreciate any help/idea/suggestion for that matter.

Thanks in advance,
Vlad
