We have renewed usage of handle.net for dspace (I'm the new guy here but I'm told it hadn't been used for over a year).  Now that it is working, we are having some performance issues.

When following a link http://hdl.handle.net/2197/333, and using snoop, the response time for the redirect is upwards of 12 seconds!  
 
Are there some configs or extra steps that I need to get the response time down?
