Hello,

I am reading rfc 3651, I don't understand what the <index> field is exactly?

The description says:

"An unsigned 32-bit integer that uniquely identifies a handle value
from other handle values"

is this just like a primary key in a database table?

Will a client to the handle server need to know this?

What exactly is this field used for?
