Re: [Handle-info] Deleting HS_ADMIN-less handles?

Hi Stuart -
There is a better way. You should add the parameter
serve_admin_full_access = "yes" to the server_config section of your config.dct file(see page 63 of the manual).
By doing this you basically override the permissions/admin of a handle and it gives you full access.

When you change the config remember to restart your server.

Thanks
Jane

Hi-

I just setup my handle server and have been learning the batch tools. Despite clear instructions telling me not to, I accidentally created a number of handles with URL values but without HS_ADMIN values. I found that I was able to create handles this way, but was not able to delete or modify them in any way. Using either the command-line batch tools or the GUI Handle Admin, I got Error(400): INVALID ADMIN. I finally found that I could use the direct database tools to work with these records - DBTool or DBRemove.

My question is whether this is the only way to do work on a handle that's been created without an admin value? The manual says to stop the handle server while using the DB tools. When we go live stopping the handle server will be a major inconvenience. I don't intend to create anymore handles with missing admin values, but if I made this mistake then other folks in my group may as well.
